Come Unto These Yellow Sands (mp3 Sample)

The Tempest, Act I, Scene 2

Lyrics

Come unto these yellow sands,

And then take hands:

Courtsied when you have and kiss'd

The wild waves whist,

Foot it featly here and there;

And, sweet sprites, the burthen bear.

About the Song

Ariel, the feisty spirit in The Tempest who serves Prospero the magician, sings this song as an enchantment to lead the shipwrecked Prince Ferdinand to Prospero and his daughter Miranda.
